Hi, I inherited a silverware set with a chest. Is there a certain order that the silverware goes in when it's stored in the chest? If so, what's the order? Thank you!
Not really. If it is a standard chest, the knives go in the slots so that they don't rub and scratch the other pieces. The spoons and forks are stacked so that they nest one on top of the other. I have my forks on the left side and the spoons on the right side. I keep the dinner forks on the far left before the salad forks and I keep teaspoons on the far right with the soup spoons to their left. There is no real "reason" for that. It is just the way my Mom kept her silver chest.
