I've been battling a head congestion for the last 3 days that has me more run down than when i had mono!
I didn't think it was anything other than a severe cold until i heard noise from my silverware drawer, and opened it to find a mouse! AHH! So now i'm panicking because i just lost my health insurance last week going to part-time, and won't be on my parents health insurance for another week at least (as a student) so i'm hoping i didn't get something that's a rodent-borne illness needing serious treatments?!
Here's the symptoms in order of onset:
Severe congestion and sneezing together
Sinus pressure/pain
Sore throat
Chest cough (day 2) producing flem
Ear aches with ticking noise in right ear (popping?)
Insomnia
Severe lack of energy
Dizziness
Numb face/scalp
Shaking teeth, hands
Medications (with some Rx leftovers):
Rx Guaifenex for congestion and chest mucus
Tussin DM for cough and expectorant
Albuterol inhaler for breathing problems
Tylenol Severe Allergy for everything else
You should check out information on Leptospirosis its common in mice, rats, coons, skunks, cattle…thats why we have vaccines for our dogs and horses. Lepto is a zoonotic disease that shed in the urine of infected animals and humans can get it. Although I dont know the symptoms in humans, symptoms in dogs are general, including fever, vomiting, arched back, refusal to eat, lack of activity.
Bleach your silverware/dishes.

The symptoms of your sickness look serious. I'm afraid you got the sickness from the mouse. They are dirty animals that can cause serious sicknesses to human being.
I would say you should not wait any longer to observe how you feel. Go at once for medical assistance. Life is precious! I'm sure your medical fees will be looked after later on.
This is not to scare you but it happened to a nursing student who went for practical study in a remote area. That place was infested with mice. She ended up in the hospital with somewhat the same symptoms as what you described. She almost lost her life as the virus had gone into her blood. Thanks heavens…the hospital was on time to identify her sickness. They drained out her blood and while it was in process, blood transfusion was done to her. She was in coma for 10 days and miraculously came back to life after that.
Wishing you good health!
