A few weeks ago I spilt water over a post-it note (written in biro) and a stain has emerged on the top of my chest of drawers.
Obviously I don't want ruin the paint/woodwork but if I can get the stain out that would be good! Here's the product:

Good old Hemnes - what you have on the surface is an acrylic coating over compressed particle board.
To clean it you will have to be careful - solvents (white spirit etc etc) may dissolve the acrylic and that would ruin it.
If the ink stain is bad - you may have to use a mild soloution of T Cut (used to polish cars) - mix a little of the T Cut with some water - then GENTLY rub over the stain to remove. Once removed clean the surface with a good polish to remove the remaining T Cut - if you leave it without polishing it off - you may get a yellowish stain.
That should do it - BUT please - rub it gently as T Cut is abrasive and contains amonia.
