Hi all,
Right now I have anxiety that I have HIV or probably early stages of AIDS. I can't go to the doctor bec I don't have money or insurance. I also don't want to be listed in the HIV archive (if positive). My last sexual intercourse what Dec 2005 with a girlfriend I had for 5 years. Before that, I had unprotected sex last Nov 2002 but now, that girl has a baby and is healthy. But If I were to ask, I think the girl from 2002 is more positive that my later gf. The reason why I think I have HIV are these:
Last year, I was diagnosed to have Seborrheic dermatits (July 2008) by 5 dermatologist (no biopies done). However, mine was considered mild bec it wasn't that flaky (just multiple red rashes) in the head, eyebrows, chest, back, trunk, belt line. At the same time, I had small amount of folliculitis in my pubic area going to the belly bottom. The Seb Derm was so hard to treat, it keeps on reoccurring every two weeks, even using topical steroids. I finally decided to live with it and just put normal lotion to it, and to my surprise, it magically disappeared, by just using lotion. My SebDerm and folliculities disappeared by just using lotion in 2 weeks (within feb 2009). That fast!
Ok, I though I was going to be fine not until later (march), when I noticed I have an enlarged (not swollen) lymph node in my right pelvic area (asymmetric) and right in the middle of my neck (which I had since I was a kid (probably 15 years ago), except I noticed it got a little bit larger (or maybe it got irritated bec I kept on touching it). Both lymph nodes did not hurt but I feel it is there, I can't describe the feeling but it is irritating. I never felt that before. I recently had endoscopy (march) and was diagnosed with Acid Reflux and I asked the doctor and she said that the enlarged lymph node in my neck maybe caused by the camera tube that she used. But how about in my pelvic area?
Anyway, as the topic says, recently I initially thought that I had big dark pimples growing in my back, chest because of the lotion. Some of them are really big and it hurts (like a normal pimple except bigger). I also checked with my derma, and he said that it looked like pimples. Well now, being paranoid again (which is sad, I know), I came across screen shots of KS in the web and mine looks similar.
My question is, does KS look like gigantic pimples, like do they have something in the middle as well, like a spot? Like a volcano with a crater in the middle Or is KS, smooth and does not have a spot in the middle like a pimple? Sorry as I can't describe the spot in the middle.
Also, the pimples (as my derma said) that I have in my body, gets smaller in 2 weeks and flattens but the dark flat scar is still there. I just used lotion to make it flat, before it was big. Does KS goes flat by itself or heal by itself?
I know that the right thing is to have HIV test but I just got layed off and my insurance was discontinued. I'll make the test as soon as I get the insurance or the money. But for now I need your advice, what do you think I have? Am I just being paranoid or is this something else?
BTW, I never had diarrehea that lasted a week, no headaches, no night sweats, no oral thrust (but a little bit white like my other friends). I experienced nausea and vomitting (mostly 1 hr after eating) but It was bec of Acid Reflux. Hmmm, I also had slight muscle pain that started with my right knee and ended up in my left bicept. I don't feel it now, but sometimes its there. The thing that I feel now is that when I'm walking, the upper part of my foot hurts a little bit, like I can feel the bones as I put pressure when walking. Upper part of foot = 1/2 inch right below the my toes. I'm 27, male.
Thank you very much.
Ok, thanks for that. I admit, I'm scared. Some of my friends told me that I'm hypochondriac, I hope that helps, but it doesn't.
PS: I lost weight, 13 pounds in 1 month. But I had to have drastic diet and exercise. I had high cholesterol and ALT (mild fatty liver). Doctor advised me to do diet (this was feb-march)
The ONLY way to find out if you have HIV is to get an HIV test. You can not be diagnosed based on symptoms.
You can check the website hivtest.org to find free testing sites in your area. Just enter your ZIP code. HIV testing is confidential. Your test results can not be released to anyone without your written permission, but some states do require reporting of positive results to the state health department for statistics and to help connect the person to appropriate treatment resources.

You will go crazy trying to diagnose yourself and 9 times out of 10…you will be wrong TRUST me on this. You sound like me and you do not want to know how many times I have diagnosed myself with everything from cancer to HIV.
I suggest you go to a clinic that can either put you on a payment plan or ask how much the tests costs and save, borrow or pay a bill late to have the test done. Its the ONLY way your going to know and the only way you will finally be able to pout yourself at ease.
Your most likely MAKING yourself achy and lose weight with all the stress your causing yourself, it makes you achy; which makes you even more paranoid, Its alll a big circle that you wont get out of unless you get tested. Go luck.

Been there, done that!
Oh my gosh, that is all of the stuff that I have been thinking about. I am such a hypochondriac, though. Like one of the responders said, I have diagnosed my self with cancer, HIV, anything that is super scary. Have testing done. Really, it should give you piece of mind, like it did me. I tested neg for everything, and then I was able to stop worrying. Try that, and relaaaaax.
