basically we are from bombay . my uncle died just 4 days back in delhi. his wife and other close relative were with him when he died. they said that it was a heart attack. but the symptoms they told me doent fit with cause. He was firstly breathless with no chest pain. he was feeling vey uncomfirtable within just 5 mins. he started with productive cough with blood stain & slowly he became hypoxic and died.
He was diabitic & suffering from HT. But otherwise he was healthy fit & fine , no asthma or any other major illness at 55 years age, i dont think this is an heart attack. since he was very very rich & away from home , everybody around him tried to bring back his body from delhi. So doctors were bribed to give certificate & no postmortum was done …

can anybody really guide ?? please

I am very sorry for your loss. It is always hard to lose a loved one and even hard when your not sure of what exactly happened. Please remember that this is just my opinion. This does not sound like a pulmonary emboli. With a PE the patient would have been complaining of severe shortness of breath and chest pain. Due to his past history of Hypertension and Diabetes I lean very strongly in the dierectly of pulmonary edema. This is a condition in which the fluid backs up into the lungs and becomes a barrier to oxygenation. When the O2 levels drop the blood vessels in the lungs constrict and develop acute pulmonary hypertension on top of the system hypertension. If hypoxemia is not reverse immediately via intubation and pressure control ventilation this continues to increase rapidly and the person goes into ARDS (adult respiratory distress syndrome). ARDS causes the lungs to lose the elasticity and they become unable to ventilate and the person dies.
